“Follow Your Bliss.” – Joseph Campbell

November 9th will always be a special day for me. On this day, five years ago, I left a high-profile career which no longer suited me to become a liberated entrepreneur, transformation Goddess, life coach, yogini and author.  In this short time, I’ve learned how to run a successful business supporting powerful and creative women in career transition.

This post represents a celebration of the milestones achieved during my liberation quest plus some of the lessons learned on my path to entrepreneurial freedom.

• Work(ed) with clients in England, Thailand, Italy, Australia, Canada and the USA
• Co-authored three best selling books for women
• Authored and published, Life on Your Terms. (True Balance Press)
• Created True Balance Press.
• Wrote and recorded the Life on Your Terms Accelerator Series – A self paced coaching program for people ready to reinvent themselves as entrepreneurs.
• Earned my yoga teacher certification.
• Create and teach Luscious Living Yoga Playshops for women.
• Work with several specialized coaches for business, mentorship and public speaking.
• Hired a brilliant support team for accounting, graphic design, Web site creation and behind the scenes support.
• Authored several articles for Women Entrepreneur, Aspire and More.
• Co-created Seize True Success Coaching with Diane Helbig.
• Co-created Anxiety Slayer with Ananga Sivyer.
• Coached hundreds of people to get focused and transition from employee to entrepreneur.
• Created and presented workshops and signature speeches for Zonta, Grand Traverse Woman, Union Yoga, IAAP and the United Franchise Group.
• Partnered with Light of Day Organics to create my signature True Balance Organic Tea blend.
• Partnered with a seamstress to create Transformation Goddess Prototype clothing.
• Created seven coaching videos to grow my business.
• Created three Web sites and a Life Balance Blog.
• Worked with a Public Speaking Coach to shine on stage.
• Created five signature speeches.
• Created a signature coaching system for women in transition.
• Created custom audio for podcasts, commercials, long format videos and audio books.

Lessons

• Trust your intuition.
• It’s okay to say NO thank you.
• Distractions will always get in the way of productivity.
• Create time for spaciousness
• Work away from your office on a regular basis.
• Work with a coach or mentor at all times.
• Know your audience/target market really well.
• Test your ideas in advance for new products and services
• If you are a writer, hire an editor.
• Ask for support  - sooner than later.
• Remain curious.
• Learn how to harness your natural creative energy.
• Surround yourself with a brilliant team of people.
• Incremental steps = GOLD.
• Cash is Queen. Without cash flow your business is dead.
• Trade your specialized services for specialized services for your business.
• Fail fast and move on.
• Partner with like-minded entrepreneurs and grow your sphere of influence.
• Be generous and kind everyone you meet.
• Surround yourself with people who believe in you
• Work your ass off doing what you love  - delegate the rest.
• Read a lot of material.
• Get out in front of REAL people at least once a month.
• Some days suck – Most days ROCK.
• The list goes on and on…
