A Little Peace Please …
by Shann on Apr.10, 2009, under Inspiration, Life Coaching, Personal Development

Sunset at Empire Beach
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” -Jimi Hendrix
Create a Little Peace Today by focusing on:
Positive Thinking
- Attitude is everything … Start by choosing humor and happiness? The next time you are cranky, think about how funny you are being all puckered up and pissed off.
Breathing
-Pay attention to your breath and watch your world settle down. Breathe in through your nostrils and fill your lungs to capacity and then exhale and let it all go. Repeat for 2 or three rounds of your breath.
Emotional Energy
-Let go of any excess baggage and learn how to tap into your happy place. Everyone has a crappy day … Learn to let it go. Say Ta Ta, Bon Voyage, Later to that big black hole of madness.
Self-Love
- Love yourself as you are - right now. You are an amazing critter. Embrace your quirks, strengths and short comings with kindness. There is nobody in the verse quite like you!
Gratitude Power
-Begin and end each day thinking about what you are thankful for. Consider writing letters of gratitude to the most important people in your life. Let them know you think they are … All kinds of alright.
Meditation
- Whether guided or silent, for one minute or one hour, make time to meditate for your soul. Do it … No excuses.
Knowing
-Your life is more important than you know. You are the author of your life’s story. What would you like to experience? Begin …
When you consciously embrace each step above you are cultivating peaceful awareness.
A little peace please …

Ambition to Meaning - Finding Your Life’s Purpose
by Shann on Apr.01, 2009, under Life Balance, Personal Development
“Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life. Worse still, we take this step with the false presupposition that our truths and our ideals will serve us as hitherto. But we cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning, for what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.” - Carl Gustav Jung
I loved this movie and recommend it you anyone searching for your life’s purpose. This film was an excellent compilation of Dr. Wayne Dyer’s ideas - both in documentary form, as well as in theatrical form. The video weaves back and forth from dramatic scenes, to interviews, much in the same way that “What the Bleep” successfully does.
Promo from the Film’s Website:
From the creators of You Can Heal Your Life: The Movie comes a compelling portrait of three modern lives in need of new direction and new meaning. In his first-ever movie, Wayne Dyer explores the spiritual journey in the second half of life when we long to find the purpose that is our unique contribution to the world. The powerful shift from the ego constructs we are taught early in life by parents and society—which promote an emphasis on achievement and accumulation—are shown in contrast to a life of meaning, focused on serving and giving back.
Ambition to Meaning captures every person’s mid-life longing for a more purposeful, soul-directed life.
I recommend this video to anyone who is a fan of Wayne Dyer’s work and for those who are looking for a shift in consciousness.
